Transcript of Video of MPX-C 9mm Carbine:
John: Welcome to Shot Show 2013. I'm John with Rockwell Arms here with Adam from Sig Sauer. We're going to show off a brand new gun from them, the Sig MPX. Tell us a little bit about this. This is the civilian version? I'll turn it over to you.
Adam: It is. Yeah, this is the MPX-C. So it's a commercially available or civilian variant of our MPX for law enforcement and military. So with the C model, what it has is a sixteen inch overall length in the barrel, so it's got a fixed integral muzzle break, and the muzzle break's nine inches permanently affixed to the barrel, so it gives you that 16-inch overall length to meet that federal requirement. So it's a carbine, essentially.
And you'll notice it's got an interesting muzzle break designed at the end of it. Instead of just doing a long skinny barrel, we chose this design. It also gives us some other options. If we wanted the silencing, you could buy a silencer specifically made for this type of gun.
With the MPX, you get a short-stroke gas piston system, so our 516's that we have, our Sig 516, same type of system, short-stroke gas piston system, full locking rotary bolt.
The whole lower end of the gun operates exactly like an AR15, an M4 type of variant, so your controls which are ambidextrous, are just like that of an AR15. So those familiar with that are going to be familiar with this.
With your stock options, you have a retractable stock that has three settings, all the way out, halfway out, or all the way closed. We also have a side-folding stock available for it. You could take that off, and you can just put a sling swivel on the end of it, if you wanted to as well.
Commercial market, we're also going to have a pistol version, so no stock short 6 1/2 inch barrel for it as well.
Magazines, 20's, 30's, and 10-round magazines, proprietary mags made by Lancer, great quality magazines. We're really excited about those.
Picatinny rails, so you can mount anything you want on this thing right here. And there it is, the Sig MPX. It's specifically designed to meet the needs of military and law enforcement folks out there who want a pistol caliber carbine, actually interchangeable calibers, 9, 40, and 357 Sig, interchangeable in the field. So we're really excited about it. We'll see them out on the streets here pretty soon, and happy shooting.
