The GLOCK 17 in caliber 9x19 is the most widely used law enforcement pistol worldwide. Because of its unsurpassed reliability, above-average magazine capacity of 17 cartridges in the standard magazine and its low weight, it is trusted by law enforcement officers in their daily duties throughout the world. It is safe, easy and quick to use through the revolutionary “Safe Action” trigger system. GLOCK 17 – designed for professionals.
The Gen4, just like any GLOCK pistol has the same time tested
....that make GLOCK firearms famous!
The new Gen4 has several new features designed to satisfy the most demanding consumers. It is based on a full size G17/G22 MBS (multiple back straps) frame with a reduced short frame trigger mechanism housing. The multiple back strap system allows the user to change the circumference of the grip to fit their individual hand size.
The grip has three options; a short frame version, medium frame or large frame that are easily changed and secured with a single pin.
The grip angle of the GLOCK "Safe Action" Pistol is not changed by back strap modifications. This ensures that the shooter does not shoot high or low when modifying the back strap or when shooting with a different GLOCK Pistol.
The smallest back strap is integrated in the G17 MBS reducing the trigger distance of the standard size G17/G22 frame by 2mm. The medium back strap is a 2mm back strap offering equal size of a standard G17/G22 frame. The large back strap is a 4mm back strap.
The magazine release catch of the Gen4 is reversible and enlarged. The reversible magazine catch allows users to switch the catch to the left or right side of the pistol with no additional parts.
Additionally, the Gen4 has a new Rough Textured Frame (Gen4 RTF) surface designed to enhance grip traction and is present on the frame as well as the interchangeable back straps.

Transcript of Video for Glock 17 Gen 4:
Hey, this is John with Rockwell Arms. We're going to showcase the Glock 17 Gen4 today. We'll go over the features and benefits of this particular gun and give you an up-close look at it.
All right, so here's your up-close look at the Glock 17 Gen4 pistol. The difference between the Gen4 and the Gen3: The Gen4, you get three magazines, which is nice. Right out of the box you get three magazines. On the Gen 4's, it also has the adjustable backstrap, so if you have a bigger hand, you can put bigger backstraps on. It does have a thinner frame, as well, for people with smaller hands. It will fit their hand a little better.
It has a little bigger magazines release, and you can actually change that to left or right, if you're a left-handed shooter. And the texturing is a little bit different, as well.
Internally, it's got a different recoil spring. It's actually got dual recoil springs inside of the Gen4, just to help with follow-up shots and recoil a little bit.
But the Gen 4's are a very good value. You do get the extra magazine with the gun.
Because it's a Glock, you do get their revolutionary safe action trigger, which makes it a very safe gun, as long as you're handling and using it properly. These are very good guns for beginners up to experts.
All right, basic breakdown of the Glock 17 is just like any Glock. You'll actually pull the slide back maybe a quarter or eighth of an inch. You have a catch right on both sides of the gun that you'll need to grab and depress. Let off here, you'll pull the trigger now, and pull the slide forward, so that's pretty easy.
And there's a close-up look at the new recoil springs, the dual recoil springs that are in the Gen4 system.
Put it back together just as easy. Just make sure that you line up the tabs there, slide it on, rack it back, do a couple tests, and it's good to go.
In a nutshell, that's your Glock 17 Gen 4 close-up.
